Meet the Family
One of the many things you are going to love about us is our team. Sure our lawyers are top rated professionals, but our administrative team, we
call Client Care Coordinators, have the word “Helpful” on their business cards for a reason. They are here to help you. It is not uncommon
to get a text with funny emojis and lots of “bless your hearts” on the phone. Unlike many attorneys from whom you cannot get a return phone
call, we call and text sometimes just to check in.
And not just anyone is R+E material.
People in the legal profession think family law is too personal, but that’s what we love about it. We get to be helpful with the important stuff. We are small by design, because “big” does not work in family law. We know this from experience. In a big firm, your routine conflict check crosses dozens of screens, and your personal information on the law firm system is accessible to tons of bored people. At R+E, we think the fewer people that know about your situation the better. Representing corporations is just not the same as representing individuals. We know this from experience too.
Our team is made up of special people with a special calling. Below we proudly introduce you to our awesome little family.
Craig Robertson is the founder and majority shareholder of Robertson + Easterling. He loves his job. An Enneagram 8, Craig is an innovative problem solver. He excels in the courtroom, but is mindful that the only thing worse than a divorce is a divorce with a trial. He will take a holistic approach to your situation, and is as likely to recommend counseling as he is to file papers. Sometimes he will recommend you do both. He is competitive, but 20 years of family law only practice has given him perspective he lacked in the earlier, take-no-prisoners-years of his career. A 1999 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, he has been recognized by his peers and his community as a leader in family law in various ways throughout his career. In fact, Super Lawyers magazine named him a Rising Star over a seven-year period, and he is board certified in family law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. In 2011, Craig was chosen by the Mississippi Business Journal as a Top 40 Under 40, which recognizes the state’s 40 up-and-coming business leaders under the age of 40. He has also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and is the founder of the non-profit organization, 200 Million Flowers. In 2016, he was appointed by the Mississippi Supreme Court to serve on the Mississippi Commission on Children's Justice, and he was instrumental in operationalizing Rescue 100, a faith based initiative to train foster parents in an expedited manner. Last year the Mississippi Business Journal recognized him again, naming him to be included among its Leadership in the Law Class of 2018. Read More
Matt Easterling is a partner with Robertson+Easterling. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Investment Finance, he completed his legal training at Ole Miss and furthered his training at the renowned ABA Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute in Denver, Colorado. The Institute pitted Matt against some of the brightest attorneys from well respected family law firms nationwide. Despite being the youngest graduate of the Institute, Matt received outstanding reviews. Matt has an uncanny ability to put people in crisis at ease -so much that many clients have remarked that he missed his true calling as a therapist. He is intensely competitive and passionate, and Board Certified in Family Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Read More
Caylan is a graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law and has been a family law specialist for her entire career. Having married her best friend Chris in 2014, she is enjoying the many adventures of marriage, including her biggest to-date when she became a mom. As a dedicated associate, you will often see her with her nose in a book researching the most recent legal question to help with your case, but she is also an impressive litigator on her feet in the courtroom, having received many awards for moot court competitions in law school, which has translated to her practice as a polished advocate. Caylan is a Jackson native—born, raised, and educated here—so her passion is helping Mississippians by making what can sometimes be a difficult process a little easier through her legal knowledge and research skills. She’s thrilled to give back through her talent as an advocate for people like you. Read More
Originally from Rankin County, she is very proficient in the family law office environment. She has a huge heart and will grieve with you when you feel low and celebrate with you when you reach the light at the end of the tunnel. The honest truth is you will probably love talking to Cassie more than one of our boring attorneys. She is a big part of the complete service package delivered to you by R+E. Read More
Living in a single parent household for the majority of her childhood, she has journeyed the pain and heartache of divorce. She has a strong appreciation for you, the single, independent parent who sacrifices daily for your children. As a newer part of our team, she brings her life experience and outside perspective to the family dynamics you will circumnavigate through your time with us.
